Cookie policy
Effective 12 October 2026 · Covers atkober.me and the mailbox at mail.atkober.me
This service uses one cookie. It is strictly necessary for signing in. There are no advertising, analytics, or third-party cookies anywhere on this site.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store and send back with later requests. Cookies are how a website can tell that two requests come from the same signed-in person.
2. The one cookie we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
mailbox_session |
Keeps you signed in after you sign in or create a mailbox. It holds only a random session identifier; your account is looked up on the server, and no personal data is stored inside the cookie. | Strictly necessary, first party | 7 days, or until you sign out, whichever comes first |
The cookie is set HttpOnly (page scripts cannot read it), SameSite=Lax, and Secure when the site is served over HTTPS.
Simply visiting the page, including the sign-in form and the studio pages, sets no cookie at all. The cookie is created only when you actually sign in or register, and it is deleted when you sign out.
3. Cookies we do not use
- No analytics or statistics cookies.
- No advertising, remarketing, or conversion cookies.
- No third-party cookies of any kind.
- No tracking pixels, and no embedded third-party content that could set its own cookies.
- No cross-site tracking or profiling.
4. Other browser storage
If you dismiss the cookie notice on the mailbox page, we remember that choice in your browser's localStorage under the key cookie_notice_v1. That value is a single word ("dismissed"), it never leaves your device, and it is not a cookie. If your browser blocks storage, the notice simply appears again next time. Nothing else is stored locally.
5. Why you do not see a cookie consent wall
Consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Because the only cookie here is strictly necessary for the sign-in you asked for, it is exempt from that requirement — so we show you an informational notice plus this policy instead of blocking the site behind an "accept" button. If we ever add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
6. How to block or delete cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings — look for "Privacy", "Cookies", or "Site data" (most browsers also offer a private/incognito window that discards them when you close it). Please note that blocking the session cookie makes signing in impossible, and clearing it signs you out.
7. Changes to this policy
If the cookies used by this service ever change, this page and the effective date above will be updated first.
